Eorl Mark Günther Stefan of Östlaed has sent out the following report on the construction of a grand stronghold for the defense of Acholm, the Östron capital:

Council of the Crowned:

The Eorldom of Östlaed has completed the Östúr, the stronghold of Östlaed. I instructed the great builders of Östlaed to build this great fortress tower in YoE 497, and now it is complete. It shall fulfill several roles:

* Fortified place of safety for the people of Acholm

* The residence of Eorl Mark Günther Stefan of Östlaed

* The grand hall of the Eorl of Östlaed, and thus the seat of the government

I am also confirming that we have used the secrets of the Dwarvish book "Thorgil's Hammer" in the construction of this great tower. It was discovered in the library of the monastery at Acholm some years ago, and unfortunately I was the only person capable of reading that ancient language among the Östron. Many magical spells are in that book, including spells and potions to enchant a wide variety of materials. Thus, there is a magic in this stone, making it unbreakable unless tested by the darkest of magic only rumored to exist in the dark places of Hermertia.

Several illustrations and paintings are also in transit following this letter.
