Lore: Established by Eorl Mark Accynnafon Stark in 495 A.I., Phoenix 00-11, Östlaed has become the promised land for the dispersed Östron tribes after centuries of separation. Incredible growth, owed to large amounts of Östron immigrants from around the Empire, has lead to a large expansion into the present realm consisting of 3 Shires/Duchies and 7 Farthings/Counties. Settlement Lore:Westmead: Part of the multi-village area of Acholm, and often called Acholm, this was one of two of the earliest Östron settlements in the new world. It is home to the Östur, the seat of government within the realm of Östlaed. The economy is largely agricultural, shipbuilding, and the forging of magical tools.
Acholm: The developing town of Acholm is east of Westmead, and can also be used as a name for the entire area.
Merscafen:A village of fishermen and reed farmers settled by an early group of Östron raiders. There is a terrible entrance to a strange dimension under the village. Excellent spot for catching Östron catfish.
Wiccaweald:A town of forest hunters, berry farmers, and rabbit breeders that is quite secretive and secluded deep in a magical forest. This tribe of Östrons are quite adept at archery and sneak attacks. Be careful in this area - it is easy to become lost.
Groeneweald:A settlement of monks that study the magical ways of the forest, protecting the rare spruce-oak trees.
Gourdham:A town of gourd farmers and horse breeders, largely responsible for much of the gourds/pumpkins consumed in the Empire - this town produces more of them than the rest of the Empire combined. The oldest stone fortification in Östlaed is here: The Gourdburg.
Beorcfeld:An Östron woodland tribe vassalized under the lady of the realm, Lady Isla Accynnafon. Many of her relatives from Ernun settled here following the founding the the realm in 495.
Frithengest:A horse breeding and herding tribe, home to a very powerful and wealthy Östron Thane with one of the largest mead halls in the realm.
Scitteeig:A town of Östron raiders where much degeneracy occurs. Seriously, do not go there. It is a dangerous place. It is thought they make a living from selling fish on the black markets of the Imperial Sea, as well as straight up raiding/stealing from passing ships. They are far too lazy to conduct actual raids.
