The Laghiman Government is headed by a Monarch who wields power that is only in check by imperial law and rights. The position of monarch is a hereditary one and has belonged to the Stark family for four generations and will likely continue to be held by House Stark. The monarch styles themselves as Grand Duke internationally and formally, while his informal title can vary from many things, such as Lord or His Majesty.

Underneath the Monarch is a body called the Laghiman Convention. Within this body are several smaller bodies: The Native Mercurian Entente (NME), The Mercurian Convention and the Vulcite Assembly.

The NME is a loose alliance of various Native Mercurian villages and tribes that elects several consuls to live in Arah, Laghima. The Mercurian Convention is a way for imperial citizens within Laghima to gain political power and help their Grand Duke run the realm. The Vulcite Assembly is a collection of scholars and local leaders from Vulca appointed by the leader of the Vulcites.

The convention convenes yearly to create commissions that handle the current issues within Laghima. These commissions' members are appointed by the bodies within the Laghiman Convention, and are confirmed by the Grand Duke. In total, 44 delegates are apart of the Laghiman Convention, which is effectively a pseudo-legislative branch of Laghima's government.

The inclusion of the Vulcite Assembly in Cycle of the Tides 00-03 YoE 516 A.I. marked the first major government change in ten years.

Fascinating. I should do one of these for my own realm. I did not expect the natives to have their own elected members within the structure. Interesting!

The Karsite's close bond with Native Mercurians dates all the way back to the 2nd Era of the Old World. Naturally they petitioned, and succeeded, in having their leader represent their lesser known allies.
