"Gather round! Gather round!" yelled the Towncrier.
Below the Great Shrine of Goschte the people of the Geistreich Clan gathered around. News quickly spread of the death of Jakob and the Clan was on the glimpse of panic.
Up in the Shrine, a clergy of priests surround the body of Jakob. His body is covered in a white silk sheet that is damp with the smell of oil. Orell Kaufmann lingers over the body, remembering when Jakob took him in as a boy. His fathers before him were the heirs to the Auburn Keep and there were many expectations of him. Some say that he would go mad like his ancestors before him, others say he would rise to greatness, and rule over all the lands, but Jakob knew the potential in this weak boy. He saw the love in his heart when the townsquare filled with people to celebrate Goschte, he saw the fierceness in his eyes when thieves would steal from the mothers of the Clan, he saw the faith in his mind when he looked up to the Great Shrine of Goschte. He knew that the boy was destined for greatness, and so he was hand picked and raised to rule over Galios. He knew Orell would not disappoint.
And so the moment drew upon him. The people could wait no longer. Orell commanded the priests to hoist the body outside, as he picked up a torch from the wall. The priests lay the body outside, where all could see. Orell lowered the torch to the sheet, and Jakob went up in a great flurry of flames. All in the Clan knew that only the esteemed members of the Clan earned a death by fire. Silence fell over the Clan.
"Members of the Geistreich Clan! Followers of Goscthe! Valyrians! Valtorians! Whatever you call yourself, we stand here together, in awe of the mark that this man, Jakob Jaegar, left on Galios. Before him, was Aksel Jaegar, The Settler! He established a land so that our people could survive! Then, there was Jakob Jaegar, The Builder! He built a foundation for our people to thrive upon! Now, I present myself, Orell Kaufmann! We wll have to forge our future through the sweat of our brow, and the strengths of our backs! But even the strongest and brightest of men know that we are mere mortals! And mortals are limited by the short lives that they live! And so we must remember the immortals that rule the lives that we lead! Only through them can we ascend to greatness! Fear not, Geistreich Clan, as your Weisagger the Gods and Goddesses WILL be with us! For Goschte!"
The crowd yells in joy and chants "For Goschte, For Goschte, For Goschte!"
