Friends, allies and fellow Mercurians, I bring good news from the resurgent Galios.
A regularly scheduled courier was of no particular mention, however a message from within their saddlebag most certainly was.
Samyrrah of House Almandine, Commander of the Spear Tip, was sent on a diplomatic relations journey across the Nether expanse to investigate the summons.
The largely forgotten county of Galios, which had weathered the Dark Ages in almost complete isolation, had sent out missives to it's Valyrian brethren and allies for the purposes of reconnecting to the world at large once again.
A venerable Jakob, Count of Galios and heir to the legacy of the ancient Stipes Ferrier(spelling?) of the Old World, creaking in his advanced age, greeted the delegation from Dawnstar by the recently re-kindled portal entrance.
Having spent so long being isolated, Jakob was confused as to where a party of pale skinned Snow Elves/Aethen had suddenly gained so much prominence in the world of Hermertia. News of the larger, wider world was poured over, with meticulous records kept by the late Samaia Almandine providing a much needed overview of the current state of affairs of the burgeoning Mercurian Empire: The Regent's return, the creation of the Grand Duchies of Reinen and Dawnstar, The Imperial City's founding, the vile Ender Dragon's defeat and receding threat of Endermen by Imperial Forces. Throughout the exchange Jakob nodded sagely and absorbed the details with enthusiasm. There was much to take in.
Advances in technology were shown off, a truly genius blend of slain dragon's wing and Hermertian ingenuity resulted in the Elytra, which Jakob had one of his protégés test. Much joy was had in soaring above the growing city from the cliff's edge next to the chuch.
Jakob and Samyrrah viewing the surrounding area and town from the view point.
Jakob's protégé enjoying the advances in technology missed by Galios since their isolation.
This continued until dusk fell, with their religious site in the background. Needless to say the priests were less than pleased to have a crowded mob of cheering townsfolk cluttering their hillside, but could not help but be pleased by the symbolism of the meeting and of the flying festivities. Their people were being raised from obscurity once again.
A feast was held that night, with the promise of a permanent Embassy from Dawnstar to reside with the city.
Good to have you back, friend!
