Monks wandering the wilderness to the south of Acholm, near some Östron fishing villages have discovered what appears to be an odd type of spruce and oak. The locals, whose rumors have been dismissed for decades, have long called these trees "Spruce Oaks." They have magical properties, for we have discovered at the base of many of these trees that there are springs that seem to give great energy and even make you taller!

Some illustrations are presented here:

The people of Östlaed would certainly consider it a crime to damage any of these trees. This magical forest is sacred.

This reminds me of a journal my grandfather, Alexander Stark, kept detailing the species on the island of Alos in the GRHH. Interesting discovery!

Is this journal available for study? (aka link me!)

Interesting find. Perhaps you should create an institute to better study the flora and fauna of your lands. You may discover more about the seemingly magical properties of the trees.

Perhaps a guild/society/order to preserve the animal and plant life of the Empire? Hmmm.... good idea, I'll give it some thought today.

A Botanical academia would be most welcome in these times of peace. Without burgeoning wars to drag our resources down we can accomplish much.

After traveling back to Alos Island within the GRHH, I have found the journal and published it for Imperial Scholars to study:
