Here follows is the account of Thane Boris Thunger, an Östron Thane from what is now Östlaed.
In the 5th fall of the 11th Mercannum of the first Thoannum of the Cycle of the Phoenix, the Thanes of what is now called Östlaed received word that the Master of the Monastery at Arnum, Casadia, had bestowed upon him a title and rank of nobility. Duke Haedren, the Guardian of Casadia, had sent a letter earlier in the year to the Council of the Crowned notifying them of this achievement, and thus we received word via the crew of a merchant ship of the Order of Sanct Creopbaina.
I quickly sent riders on black Östronling steeds to all of the Thanes of Östlaed. We gathered a great many Thanes, shire reeves, and merchant traders to take us to the Imperial Isle. It only took us 2 weeks to arrive on mostly large Östron longboats, and a few small Östron cogs. We marched to the Imperial City and held a Thanesmoot in the great monastery of our religion. Thanes of Östson communities from Kaine, Casadia, the G.R.R.H., Östlaed, and the Imperial Isle arrived in the following days. Word also reach Count Mark Stefan, Master of the Monastery of Arnum, and he soon too joined us. We rallied to his banner, singing many a drinking song long into the night:
Beer in the glasses and pork on the plate!
Bring out the wine and and eat the steak!
That's the celebration the Östron make!
Pour the beer in the great count's throat!
Eat so much pork that you almost choke!
Empty the merchants of their heavy yoke!
Chug the wine from a wooden bowl,
Toast to our good Mark Stefan, our Lord!
May he give us the strongest swords!

So drink and toast to our Lord all day!
On the 5th day after the arrival of the Count, he was awarded an audience with the Council of the Crowned. It did not take long for the approval of the Kings present, giving us at least a realm for our own: Östlaed. We, as the new vassals of the Count, gave him a new title: Eorl Mark Günther Stefan of Östlaed. He sailed back on a rather large cog to come visit Östlaed, and arrived there to witness much merrymaking. I'm sure we will exhaust our supply of seedcakes, salt pork, beer, and wine for now!
