There has been a good amount of discussion online over the past several days concerning the matter of our server spawn point - i.e. the location we spawn when our beds are obstructed and, crucially, the location newcomers to Hermertia spawn.

As you know, the current spawn location is at Concordia, the cobuild we built at the Corrdiorlands. There has been much reflection on the point that this spawn location, while undeniably giving us a chance to show off what a great city we built, is less that satisfactory in other ways. Here, I will attempt to quantify those sentiments and advocate for the moving of the spawn location from Concordia to the Imperial Isle.

The simple fact of the matter is that Concordia is just so far removed from almost everything else in Hermertia that it renders spawning at the main spawn point much more arduous than it should be. Respawning there means a journey back to the other side of the Empire that can approach a half hour in length! I'll make it clear, however, that this is not an individualised argument: yes, Concordia is the farthest removed from Wysteria, but it is also unbearably far removed from Casadia, Pyrencia, Ertia, and frankly most of the Empire.

There is, I think, a powerful argument to be made for a centralised spawn point, one that is much nearer the center of the built-up areas of the Empire while also maintaining historical significance. The answer to this is clear: the Imperial Isle is, of course, the historical center of the New World and is both much closer to a majority of the Empire and respectful of history as it was the first landing point for the Imperial Fleets.

In short: over discussion with a good number of Imperial citizens, from Kings to Dukes to Counts to Vassals, a good amount of agreement has been reached on the idea that shifting the spawn point from Concordia makes sense. I agree, and would like to advocate strongly for the moving of the server spawn point to the Imperial Isle.

I feel like we should build some sort of fancy spawn location in the Imperial City for this.

I'm all for the spawn point being changed to the Imperial City for now.
Myself and Aeries are working on the Imperial City Nether Hub and line just now in preparation for this change.

I'm happy with this change as well. It's been such a pain having to walk back from Concordia after dying if for some reason my bed is obstructed or whatever. I think the Imperial Isle splits the difference well between all the major areas of the Empire. However, maybe it's time to build it up a bit and actually make it into a legit "Imperial City?"

I vote in favour of this as well! Although Concordia is amazing it is a pain for everyone, including those that are just starting. It can still be part of our lore either way.
