The system looks good to me really. I know the old system has been around for a while but in efforts to accommodate feedback from the community and also ensure we are progressing towards the future I think this could help us achieve both.

If we kept the current activity/inactivity laws it should be more than enough for these two councils, nothing really has to change in this regard. As for the percentage, it should not be based on active players I do not think as it could get a bit confusing at times. The current requirements to become a King or Duke could be used as a base for voting requirements to both of these councils? Most of the framework is already there in the grand scheme of things.

Keep it consistent with what we have right now basically. With voting in members to these councils I believe it will alleviate most concerns that have been raised right off the bat.

I see what you mean. Makes sense. I mean it's something we should try out with current methods of doing things then if it needs a change we can always implement one and see how it goes.

Anyone got further input or should we go ahead and attempt to write this into something that we can then review and vote?

Write it into something that we can review and vote! It would be easier for us to see i think. If you can refer back to the voting requirements, inactivity laws, etc that would apply still that would make things easier too. Just saying!

I think this is a good idea and an important step forward for Hermertia.

So im going to roughly get down what we have so far. Everything is up for debate still, ironing out the details and such.

High Council
Replaces the current Council of the Crowned and assumes same legal roles and responsibilities.

Low Council
Replaces the current House of Dukes and assumes same legal roles and responsibilities.

Kings
Will count as two votes on their respective council.

Dukes
Will count as one vote on their respective council.

Voting for the High Council
This vote will occur every three months (semi-frequently, but not so often that it's annoying). Every member of the community will be able to cast a single vote for who they wish to be on the High Council. The members with the most votes will be added to the High Council until a certain percentage of active Dukes and Kings is met. A re-vote will be held if a certain percentage is not met, minus the members that already obtained enough votes.(e.g. scrios gets 12 votes and the runner up has 0 votes)
[50% maybe? Should the percentage be higher when there are fewer active players and get lower with more players?]

Eligibility for the High Council
[*]Must be active at least one week before voting begins
[*]Must be a Duke or a King before the voting starts

After re-reading this, all we need to sort out is the % of votes required to get in the High Council? And how many people should be in there?

I would like to get a decent discussion on this as i am not sure of an adequate number at the time. A percentage would be too hard to keep track of, but 2 votes atm and in the future seems like a decent amount to warrant High Council status.

I agree, also, how many members should be in the high council? A % of active people ?

I think two votes other than yourself would be a good threshold for now. As the community grows, we would probably have to switch over to a percentage system.
