Backstory: Liserett is the daughter of Biakko O’Kleefe, a refugee who came to Hermertia at the age of 32 years old. Biakko fled her country of origin, the Maarsean Empire, when it became known that she was the bastard daughter of the Empire’s son. Aided by the generosity of Hermertians, she took a new identity and pledged allegiance to Sir Nicholas, Duke of Wysteria. She soon wed Gaston Bones, a local horse breeder, and gave birth to Liserett.
Liserett was a strange child, imperious to say the least, but nevertheless curious and dutiful. She grew up to be a shrewd, educated young woman. She was projected into adulthood when both her parents passed away prematurely in somewhat nefarious circumstances. She then reasserted her allegiance to Sir Nicholas and rose to her new position, Mayor of Chester-le-Ford.
She had a love affair with King Scrios III and they were even engaged, but on the day of the wedding, he tragically passed away which led to unpleasant events with the prince who accused her of murder. She was declared not guilty, of course.
