Why would you restrict the excess of these wings at all? If someone wants them, he can go on an adventure in the end. Sounds like a fair reward for investing time into it.

Roglar I don't think anyone was saying we should restrict them, some are just worried about how rare they are and how hard it will be for everyone to have a pair.

Im sure if we go through the motions and do the challenge it takes to get a pair, then we can gift them (maybe go into /give and replace some of the mobs in the end if the wings are rare or rebuild a dungeon to make it challenging for the next person? just batting ideas around).

Yeah, the end generation is pretty dope now so I don't think there will be too much trouble getting these. I will be adventuring into the end after the community battle of the dragon to look for some to give to people.

I also this can really revolutionize the way we travel on the server, with unbreaking III (via an anvil), people have traveled more than 1,800 blocks in one go. We could take the idea of nether transport to a whole new level; If we make airways in the Nether, we can go huuuuge distances. This is really gonna be fun.


One person's calculations (which were tested) show that a brand new, unbreaking III pair of wings go 80k blocks.

on the problem of scarcity, if it really comes down to it, we can award to every person who battles the ender dragon in the community battle, which I hope we get a higher turn out for.

You are meant to enderpearl into the portal that spawns after the Ender Dragon.

Though you do make a real good point, I don't think I've yet to actually go back to the overworld through the same portal I've came in while playing on my test worlds. I think it would just be better to establish some kind of End base for ease of access into the region.

Yeah I saw a picture on the subreddit of 48000 blocks of a pair of regular wings.

80k with Unbreaking sounds right to me. I dont think we should restrict these too much in my opinion, if we have to make them cost a lot (pay to the Imperial Bank in the form of taxes that go towards co-builds or the Imperial City, get wings in return. Expensive as fuck though)

Nether airways would be a lot of work, like, a significant amount of blocks to displace to create. But maybe if there were small stretches that could work.
