Ooh, my interest is piqued hearing from Hermertia Wars - or its newest incarnation - again! I myself know little about coding beyond some basic Java, but would be happy to help out in later testing, say.

I remember saying Game Dev :P

I don't have any professional experience, but I've made several small games for Mac/iOS using Objective-C. I'm currently learning how to use Unity and C#. I'd say I do more coding and game story than anything else. I've done a lot of 2D pixel art (Think 8bit/16bit console style) but nothing too fancy. I leave the graphics to my friend who can draw

Shoot! It was a toss-up between Unity/C# and Unreal/C++, but we ultimately chose the latter because the engine matched our requirements a little better. Still, a lot of the concepts are quite transferable. I'd love to bounce ideas off of you.

And Nicholas, it has indeed evolved a bit. It's still the same game model, although we've tweaked the arena concepts further. For instance, I am working with a writer right now on building the map generation engine. For anyone who has ever played AOE2, maps spawn somewhat randomly based on some predictable scripts (forests over here, gold over there, more water in X map, more land in Y map), but because it is procedurally generated, each battle will be unlike the previous. This has been a really exciting development I must admit!

As for your help, most certainly we'll be enjoying your help on testing. And who knows, maybe our interests and skills will overlap in other ways too.

The best part of all now, I have a bit of spending capital, so I have invested in team members (whereas before everything was volunteer).

Vegeuros Cersil, do you think Unreal/C++ is too far out of your comfortability in the foreseeable future?

Somewhat related: I think I have too many things on the go as it stands. Oh well

EDIT: I am going to just link it instead of distorting the page

God, this lack of resizing posted photos. You guys need to do a bit of css/htmp/php editing ;) I think we have related code in the old site files if that'd be helpful.

I honestly don't know what this means; feel free to enlighten me :) Posted photos used to overflow the border and went into the far right, overlapping with the background...I thought this fix that Atryl did was how it was supposed to work. Apparently not?

My CSS knowledge is, as you can tell, limited to nonexistent.

Our old site did this for a while too, but eventually we forced a resizing of all posted images. So if someone posted an image too large for the frame, it shrunk it and prevented the forum width from being distorted. I give full credit to Kyn for figuring it :)

I'll do some digging.
