It seems there reasoning or "excuse" might be what's called bite nudging which is supposedly manipulating a post by getting like 5 up votes in its infancy and this allows it to then grow organically from there

So, did they actually take the time to find our site and check out this post? I'm not sure, but, hey, they aren't wrong. But we have done this a number of times, with the Regent always asking for upvotes.



So, perhaps sending out those pm's en masse was not the best idea. I struggle to think of any other way we could have brought the application process to people's attention, though.

Perhaps the solution is just to concede that r/minecraft, at least with it's current strictness (it seemed more liberal when Regent used to do these; people were asking how to apply and regent linked them to us) is just not the best advertising tool. I have looked at alternatives, but voat seems almost dead and sites like planetminecraft dump servers into a huuge list and want a (preferably animated) banner.

Oh, and r/mcservers? I've been banned from there, too. Not sure if it's the fact that a couple of mods moderate both subreddits, or a rule I overlooked.
