Welcome to the server! To me it seems like you only have time between you and the server! My favourite author is Terry Pratchett too. Nice builds too!

Spawn is up in the very most north-western corner of the map ( top left)

You'll spawn here: Concordia. The view is slightly different from spawn, youll see the harbour, the ships, the cathedral and the lighthouse from the Spawn point. This picture was taken from the top of the lighthouse.

This picture has the Nether Portal in view, to the left of the picture on the cliffside. In front of that is where you will spawn. Please feel free to have a look around the city when you arrive!

The Portal is the access to the rest of the world via the nether.
You are in the top left corner (Corridorlands, city of Concordia)

After your votes are given, and you've had a chance to consider offers of settlement from anyone who wishes to offer you one, that person will come and help you reach their lands ( with a horse and food hopefully ;) )

Merry

Thank you =)

I don't mind the wait as I'm currently moving, no hurry!
I'll have plenty of time to consider, negotiate and choose liege offers =D

That's really helpful, thanks! And that Nether map really puts things in perspective, wow!

yep. Those grey gridlines are 1000 blocks apart. The overworld is something like 80,000 wide by 60,000 tall. Its a huge world with a lot of space :D

Bump! By my count, you're received 2 King votes and a Bill passed from the House of Dukes: this means you only need 1 more vote from a King!

Regarding my liege

Dear prospective Lord or Lady

Please forgive a simple archite… Maarse… erh... person and her lack of manners, I’m afraid I’m quite ignorant of the rules of etiquette and what not, being a poor traveler that I am, and such.

I assure you the quality of my work rather exceeds the quality of my words and I would be grateful if you could ignore my coarseness as you consider the terms hereby described in a, I’m afraid, quite barbaric point-form way.

To my lord or lady, I offer
  • My allegiance to my lord or lady whom I’d certainly never shame by any rumors such as hypothetical revelations of me being a bastard child or whatever whimsical non-sense along these lines.
  • My hard work through the execution of various tasks (resource collection, construction of infrastructure, buildings, towns or else, landscaping, whatever is required)

From my lord or lady, I shall request
  • Communication and guidance
  • Access to some food and basic supplies until I can provide for myself.
  • Conditional rights to a small parcel of land on which to build myself a home.
  • A regularly updated variety of tasks for me to accomplish.
  • An agreement regarding the collection and ownership of precious resources in the course of my duties.

Also maybe
  • Some level of creative freedom
  • Some level of challenge
  • The possibility to renegotiate these terms in the future, as required

My humble conditions
  • I will not perform redstone work. It is dark magic and triggers emotions ranging from complete confusion to extreme rage as well as erratic behavior such as head smashing on the workbench.
  • I will not build automated farms. I find them unsightly and would rather harvest by hand and replant ten thousand wheat strands if so is your wish.
  • I will not admit anything about whatever. My father was a cobbler. A COBBLER!
  • I will not take myself seriously. Seriously. I may take you seriously. A little. Humbly and such.

Examples of potential builds that I'd like to execute for you *wink wink*

  • Rest stops (possibly with: rooms, eatery, maps/points of interest documents, stables, general supplies, more...)
  • Organic fortified towns (possibly with: watch tower/armory, inn, tavern, eatery, butcher, baker, smith, tailor, scholar/author/library, fletcher/bowyer, carpenter, stonemason, potter, woodcutter, farmers, ranch, food market, well, prison, glass blower, mage house/tower, witch den/alchemist, fisherman, port, ship chandler, cemetery, more...)
  • Structures to liven up the country side (various ruins, hermits' cottages, old bridges off the beaten paths, remnants of ancient paths perhaps leading to some forgotten temple, huntsmen cabins, barbarians settlements, more...)
  • A secondary house for my lord or lady (servants quarters, cellar, armory, stables, herbs garden, hunting grounds, fortifications, fountains, more...)

I will typically be available to work 2-4 times a week, typically between 6:00 pm and 10:30 pm (EST -5h.)

Here's hoping yerroners will not find me too forward and will deign proposing their counteroffer. I look forward offer my allegiance to my lord or lady.

Please accept my humble respects,
Cheers!
