Good Evening!

Ertia is finally ready to submit its application for its first fast travel port! The port of Roseaire is currently playing host to a variety of international ships and buildings. I believe it meets all requirements necessary to qualify as a fast travel destination. Here is its application:

Overview:
Image
Roseaire sits right at the edge of the Ertian Ocean. The main population/cultural center is located in the western portion of the city, whereas the harbor towards the east acts as an international shipping destination.

Population Center:

Picture of Roseaire's main population/cultural center. Additionally, Clocktower Ertian Brewery, a yet unnamed guild hall, and smithy are located in this dense cluster of buildings. The Ertian cathedral in progress can also be seen in the distance.

The western portion of the city will be completely walled off in the future.

Trade and Industry:
Image
Picture of the main city square. Clocktower Ertian Brewery exports vast quantities of beer to places all around the Empire. Not pictured is the local blacksmith, specializing in the smelting of ores, and also a new guildhall which will be revealed at a future date.

International Presence:

A trade hall specializing in dealing goods shipped from my friends in the east, the Östrons and Wysterians.

Pictured in the lower left hand corner of the screen is the DorEryn embassy.

Ships:

Currently anchored in the harbor are ships from DorEryn, Östlæd, Dawnstar, and Ertia.

Proposed Routes:

Current proposed routes include Acholm and Oakland. Future routes could include Akaria and perhaps Aestham.

Thank you for your consideration!

I am pleased to finally see an application for Roseaire. I shall arrange some time to come visit the area soon and check each of the requirements have been met

After reviewing the above application and conducting an inspection of Roseaire earlier today, I am unfortunately unable to approve this location for fast travel at this time.

I have sent my official findings and recommended improvements to King Arjen directly.

Might we also have the reasons for your decision posted here as well? This would provide greater transparency to the Ministry as well as serve to instruct others who wish to acquire a fast travel route as to what the Ministry is looking for.

A good point Chairman. For the sake of clarity and transparency I will summarise my findings here.

My mains concerns were:
  • that there appeared to be little or no residential presence or development in Roseaire.
  • The nether portal room for Roseaire had 2 large openings to unsafe nether.
  • The overworld connection between the two halves of the city is a floating platform of wood. A more lore friendly connection such as a supported bridge or overworld path would be more suitable.
  • The two trade warehouses had little/no interior decoration. I wanted to see some embellishment before counting them as international trade houses

I've since spoken to King Arjen and we have agreed on acceptable ways to resolve these points so a revisit of Roseaire will be in order soon I'm assured

Septimus, Mark, and I had a fantastic discussion regarding the requirements and how he will go about adhering to them. Since the discussion I have completed the bridge between the two halves of the city (I win longest bridge award ;)), completed construction on another residency, begun to make other residencies more livable, and will be working on the trade warehouses. I expect Roseaire to be an up and running port quite soon!

After careful review of Roseaire following redevelopment in the area, I am glad to formally approve this location for Fast Travel
