Transcribed from scattered records of the Olde Imperial Library.

Cycle of the Moon (Historical; Not In-Game)
--|--: Elves dominate most of Hermertia.
--|--: Old Dwarven settlements founded.
--|--: Elves establish the Ibarahian Empire.
--|--: First of the orcs are created. Darmiens appear.
--|--: Secrets of Chaos discovered?
--|--: First of the Slave Revolts.
--|--: The rise of nations. The Ibarahian Empire breaks apart in under a generation, and the Elves begin disappearing in large numbers.

Cycle of the Snake (Historical; Not In-Game)
--|--: Humans found the Order of Nations and outlaw slavery. Widespread prejudice against Elves continues.
--|--: Followers of Kaos and Cults of Chaos dominate political and spiritual consciousness.
--|--: Human community and breeding patterns grow too quickly for non-human tribes to compete with. Order of Nations begins 'homogenizing' non-human cultures into human cultures 'to avoid discrimination'.
--|--: At the Council of the Morning Star, the Empire of Man is formed. Over its long reign, this Empire and its vassals destroyed environments and dug deep mines (which are still being discovered today). Vassals include the ancestors of the Bone People in Old Hermertia, the Kingdom of Isilioth, and the ancestors of the Hrynjandi.
--|--: The Strife, mysterious and hardly documented, appeared to spread quickly through the Empire. Slowly, Kingdoms broke apart from the increasingly powerless Empire and war and debauchery was widespread like no other time in recorded history.
--|--: Most established civilizations collapse (many, according to legend, into the sea), and giant swathes of Wastes replace natural environment. This is known as the The Fleeing.

The empire of man should also include the Katari, my people's previous Kingdom which abused power and fell to ruin.

Yeah, the fact that we have little to show for so much of our history sucks.

Here is the continuation:

Owl-03-02 (228 A.I.): St. James, is selected as the Steward of Marvia but is subsequently removed from his position in The Marvian Regency Affair. Years later, New Ertia is recognized as a sovereign kingdom in the Empire. Arjen is crowned it's first king, and the biggest coronation celebration to date is held in Arjenton. The Bela Akvario Crisis arises a few short weeks later, culminating with the resignation of the 33rd Regent of the Empire after his controversial defense of the settlements of Gimpy of northern Bela Akvario from being surrounded by Lenier deChenal. August 2013

Owl-03-03 (234 A.I.): With the Regent in absence a series of terrorist attacks sweeps Old Hermertia leading to an atmosphere of suspicion and angst marking the beginning of The Unraveling. In a bid to restore order to Hermertia the Council of the Crowned begin planning in secret to bring order back to the Empire. The Emperor returns from centuries of silence and calls for the leaders of all of the factions to meet in the Imperial Project. Citing the widespread violence and disorder a number of leaders are exiled for their speculated involvement in crimes or as a method to purge alleged threats to the ancient rite. Seeing this as a sign that legitimacy had crumbled, the Emperor declares himself the last to be born into the title, and declares the Organic Law system and the Governor system to be dead and void. He declares it the duty of the Council of the Crowned to rebuild a new system relevant to modern needs. In the process, the long-trusted Elenyians and the Hrynjandi tribe are invited into the Council of the Crowned as legitimate Kingdoms. September 2013

Owl-03-04 (240 A.I.): In the years following the Unraveling, various peoples lost hereditary leaders and much of the lands' progress slowed down. Economic downturns ravaged trade, and a intellectual milieu took over the older generation. The youth on the other hand, were inspired by a growing fascination with maps and documents from previous cycles that spoke of an 'untouched paradise' discovered at the very end of the life span of Empires that predate the Mercurian Empire. The King of Perth carried out a personal and solo pilgrimage to find himself, which included seeking out these fabled lands.

Owl-03-05 (246 A.I.): The aging Emperor passed away, leaving a new Regent and a larger Council of the Crowned to monitor the transition to a new cycle. The Emperor was not immediately replaced, as per his decree, and instead the title is put into an inactive state. The King of Perth returned, confirming the existence of a passageway through The Great Mountains that led to new seas and coasts of immense proportion. The King of Minerva, reigning Regent of the Empire, declared, in the absence of an Emperor, all existing Kingdoms to be nothing more than over-glorified 'duchies'. This is the first time the term 'Duchy' appears in Hermertian historical records since the Cycle of the Snake. From this point forward, the Regent declared the Kingdom of Minerva to be known as the Petty Kingdom of Minerva, and encouraged his peers to embrace a similar humility.

Owl-03-09 (270 A.I.): Inspired by the archaeological finds that reinforced the theories about an untouched paradise, the Hermertia-wide fascination grew into a taste for exploration and adventure. Fisherfolk and explorers claimed to chart a path to the fabled land through treacherous mountain passes to the South-East of the Chemical Straights and the Hyrnjandi. Kingdoms and realms from all corners constructed great fleets and offered their brightest, most curious, and most brave the chance to bring glory from Old Hermertia to the new lands, and to one day return with great strength; all for the glory of the Empire.

Owl-03-10 (276 A.I.): Having had the majority of the fleets disembark and begin their journeys, Old Hermertia grew quiet and its economic activity, in lieu of its leaders (kings included) having left to found new lands, things settled into a peaceful acquiescence. The Old Hermertians vowed to wait patiently for their sovereign leaders to return.

Owl-03-11 (282 A.I.): Countless years into their long journey, scouting parties came back to the main fleets with word of having found a pathway through the mountains that opens up to a large valley filled with strange geographies. After almost losing faith, having seen nothing but desolate gray mountainsides pass after pass, an excitement came over the settlers. Was the journey over?

Cycle of the Dragon

1st Era

Dragon-00-00 (288 A.I.): The first of the fleets of Old Hermertia arrive into New Hermertia through The Corridorlands. These consist mostly of scouts and explorers. But the most earnest of settlers, including the kingdoms, forge ahead alongside the lead explorers.

Dragon-00-01 (294 A.I.): Using rough maps made from recent successful scouting missions, the fleets find there way to seas around what is designated the Imperial Isle, a commons island for all newcomers to land. The Minervans found the City of Eule, and a few weeks later, a collective town is founded by the Ertians, Demurgians, Valyrians and more, which is colloquially called 'Co-town' or Coton.

Dragon-00-02 (300 A.I.): King Kyn of the Kingdom of Valtoors is the first to forge a path, mostly by foot, to new homelands scouted out by surveyors a few mercannum earlier. The Minervans land and carve their way up the mighty Anishkabek River in the West Lands. The Valtorosi settle Fogharty and begin mapping their archeological finds. The Demurgians brave the nether long before safe lines to find their homelands, and adopt the name Khabranth.

Dragon-00-03 (306 A.I.): The Ertians found Ertia to the North East and help formalize for the first time the new governance structure of lieges and vassals. The Elenyans (now known as the people of New Isilioth) land on the islands west of the Imperial Isle and use it to map out and scout what they propose to be the Kingdom of New Isilioth, in the name of their ancient and glorious ancestors. Gimpy is recognized as the first Count, ruler of the County of Skragg. The mining-powerhouse Odenno Mine officially opens in Anishabek.

Dragon-00-04 (312 A.I.): Port Goldcrest opens for business, pushing Ertian influence eastward.

Dragon-00-05 (318 A.I.): King Cyrus dies in an attack on Goldshore, and his eldest son Tiberius is crowned King of New Isilioth. Kargesh opens for business, and becomes a key source of wood for New Hermertia. First major structures at Malhar begin to appear, including their famed windmills which fueled a rise in productivity. Isilioth quickly becomes a go-to location for many new settlers.

Dragon-00-06 (324 A.I.): King Kyn II dies in a battle with a large mob of creepers, but only after running into the fabled Golden Creeper. His succession process takes many years. Caldera is recognized as a County of Ertia, giving the Gathered an opportunity to apply for settler rights under the Council of the Crowned. Count Adam passes away, only a mercannum after founding Port Goldcrest, and Sean takes over. The first drafts of the Indoles Carta surface. The Great Northern Highway begins, stretching from Fortuda, through the indigenous 'Sani and Annad' towns, before cutting through Plures Napiskea. This results in the founding of Northern and Southern Euleaia (founded by the 34th Regent, and named after his family name). December 2013

Dragon-00-07 (330 A.I.): The 34th Regent of the Empire falls ill and passes away, giving rise to the first New Hermertian born Regent. Sir Digby Wellington leads a wave of colonists from Isilioth into the northern frontier of Perth. Fortuda Stronghold is built by the Khabranthians to protect a key river of trade that extends inland, and to protect their western frontier. Neighbouring Minerva dispatched the M.M. N. Illuminare (merchant class) to Fortuda to help open up the hinterland for trade, which gives rise to the first co-owned county in the region. January 2014

Dragon-00-08 (336 A.I.): Tiberius IV is assassinated by his son, resulting in widespread turmoil across New Isilioth. Robert the III, grandson of Tiberius, takes over after quelling the tension. The School of the Pyrencians opens in Plures Napiskea, immediately west of Forturda. Arjen II commits suicide after widespread economic shortfalls across Ertia. With no heir old enough to take control, it falls into the hands of a council. Gimpy of Kaine is recognized as the New World's first Duke, the beginning of a glorious era. Ignis is made Count of Arlond. Ignis then leads the Pyrencians to the central-south lands to found the City of Edhevrand. The ancestor of the famed hero of Marvia stumbles across the New World and settles in the southern portion of the Valyrian Ocean near Alcona/The Bog. After a long and illustrious life, King Scrios dies and following him rises King Scrios II, showcasing new stable secession institutions in Perth. The Chair and Committee system is officially replaced with the Ministerial System and the first Ministers are appointed. February 2014

Dragon-00-09 (342 A.I.): Construction of the Alconan Canal is complete, which was the most difficult to portage stretch of terrain that our predecessors took when traveling through New Hermertia for the first time, and which was the largest impediment to East/West naval trade up until the completion of the canal. The Great Voyage is undertaken, following in the predecessors travels, to formally map out the Oceans from the Corridorlands to the Imperial Ocean. Mt. Empire is formally surveyed for the first time, which kick started the decades long planning process for the Imperial City. March 2014

Dragon-00-10 (348 A.I.): Death of Espen, Death of Gimpy II and the rise of the first Duchess. Death of Digby and the discovery of the artifact. Resthaven was founded. Arrival of the Channorians to New Hermertia. April 2014

Dragon-00-11 (354 A.I.): The Kaine-Pyrencian War wages, with the Pyrencians declared the victors. Retirement of Ignis to Pacedel. Death of Ser Robert Barrawin. The first of the new world Guilds are founded, starting with the Skyhold Guild leading to Syrah De Gaul being named the first countess of Minerva. May 2014

A great adventure through The Corridorlands is undertaken where the Kings, Dukes, Counts and Adventurers of New Hermertia retraced the paths of their ancestors from the town of Babel to a plane on the edge of the Sea of Ea - founding a settlement there.
