I felt very queasy, I wasn’t used to crowds ‘I guess you’ll just have to get used to them’ I viciously thought to myself. I was to make a speech, and since it was my first one I decided to write it myself. I have always, just like my father, enjoyed linguistics and writing and so I rather enjoyed writing it. I cleared my throat and stood so I could be seen by all the crowd. My father died the other week. We all know this. But what we don’t all know is my skills, my capability to rule. My father laid down the bedrock – the very foundations – of Erikos. We are on a path of prosperity and it is up to me, up to us, to continue down this road. I believe, as do my colleagues, that I am more than capable and more than willing to lead this country. We must continue and expand upon our values of trade and commerce, as through trade are we united. All ready through marriage and unity have we become unique, distinct from other peoples. The children in the crowd, those who come from loving but different parents, are noticeably different. Therefore as my first act I declare us the Celdairn people! All who live in and come from the fine County of Erikos shall be henceforth known as Celdairn! We are the Masters of our Fates, the Captains of our Souls! Long live Erikos! The crowd erupted in cheers chanting my name and chanting long live Erikos. At the front of the crowd I noticed a girl who must’ve been my age staring attentively at me with a slight smile on her face. She was beautiful indeed, but a feeling of worry washed over me; I had no time for that – I had a country to run. |

I heard of this news through one of the few smuggling vessels bringing international goods to Östlond. I look forward to one day meeting you in person, Grand Admiral Arthur Raymond! |
