I'm voicing my support for Cycle of the Tides.

I'm in favor of the cycle of the tide. It represents the rise of all the maritime travel and commerce as tides rise and fall. I don't really like cycle of the leviathan as it's not in any previous lore of any sort and doesn't really represent anything. Just something that sounds "cool".

So, I am also a great fan of 'Cycle of the Tide'. Along with the obvious connection to teh Maritime Travel, it connotes a sort of sweeping and/or rising change, one that is very appropriate in myriad ways of late: newcomers building and expanding, the Carta up for review, a tonnage of legal wrangling (the best king of wrangling!), the election of the Emperor; it is a great time for the Empire, and the Cycle of the Tide pays reference to lots of what is making us a great community right now.

I like it too. As soon as I heard someone mention it in mumble, I fell for it as well.

I like cycle of the tide, my only concern is that it may encourage more use of the phrase 'ebs and flows' but other than that I like it.

Cycle of The Tide

will be the official cycle name of calendar starting on September as adequate discussion has been met over the history of this post.

If this is indeed the new name we've agreed upon, I believe that some people reckon that Cycle changes can only occur at the start of June, or can we change them whenever?

It's supposed to start in June yes, but we could supposedly set the clock forward
