Era is a bad term IMHO, but yeah, it's a year.

Ya, it seemed over time people started calling Thoannums by the shorthand Era instead. Thoannums haven't been used for a long time. In the new libraries, it could simply be a redirect, with a mentioning that it was the old name? I doubt people will stop using Era now that it is so ingrained into the date system. E.g., "4th era of the 5th cycle". Who says, "4th thoannum of the 5th cycle" these days? ahaha.
