The Laghiman Parliament has passed the Native Mercurian Recognition Act of 543 AI, recognizing several Native Mercurian cultures as more than just "native". This act is an organic one, and is expected to be updated by the newly created Laghiman National Commission of Native Mercurian Relations (shortened to Native Mercurian Relations Commission), headed by Chairman Alamgir Mul. The Skeld: The Skeldic people are a hardy people living in Laghima's mountainous regions in the eastern portions of the realm. Their sophisticated involvement in Laghiman politics and economics has granted their people the recognition they deserve. Human in every sense, the Skeldic people are a race of men descended from former slaves during the early years of Imperial exploration in the New World. Many Skeldic tribes have united under one banner, living in one village known as Skelda. Acurians: The Acurian people live in the forest regions south of Laghima, though a notable amount of them serve in the Laghiman Parliament as staffers to the KNP. There are many Acurian tribes and nearly all have adopted Imperial standards and customs into their culture. One Acurian tribe even sings songs about the Imperial Coalition's battle against Bandits in the Kybalian Trade War. The Acurians are another race of men, except these individuals are descended from ancient nomads that once moved through the region. Serivians: The Serivians are an old race of men descended from Imperials breeding with Natives on the Imperial Isle. Much of their heritage is diverse, with their far ancestors being the first Imperial Isle colonist from various realms and lands. The Serivians came to the steppes of Laghima long ago in a migration forced by the industrialization occurring on the Imperial Isle. Serivians have proven themselves to be vital to Laghima in the past thirty years, serving as mercenaries and adopting many Karsite custom and practices as well. |
