Cycle of the Tide 00|04, YoE 522 A.I.

The following resolution was drafted by Darius Stark II and the Mercurian Convention:

All Vulcite Elves controlling territories and settlements within Laghiman lands shall effectively hand over all rights, privileges and control of said territories and settlements to approved Mercurian Human Laghiman citizens. All resistance will be treated as a threat to Laghiman sovereignty and dissenters will be executed. This act is to go into effect immediately.

The Ă–strons are glad Laghima is exercising their power over these barbarians.

Is this legal within the Empire?

What exactly have they done to earn this label, and how has it contravened the laws or morals of the Laghimans? I remember the taking of an important person, it was a complicated series of events.

To my understanding of events that occurred, it was a hostile act of a Laghiman that brought about this encounter, and then subsequent lack of an effort - through, but not limited to possible indifference or race related reasons, for the Laghimans, who are documented as being the Vulcite's only connection to the Mercurian Empire to have them attain Realmhood under the Council.

Subsequently, the decisions that heads of state make in their own lands to their own peoples for political gain, or other reasons, are entierly up them. Lady Theodora was doing what she thought best for her people to unite her crown with Laghima's. There have been comparable or worse things occur within the Empire that have not resulted in such reactions. Having two wives for the sake of peace and prosperity of thousands of people and avoiding war is not the most atrocious thing.

Speaking of elf blood as though it were a taint could also be considered rash. My own ancestors, Sameria and Samaia were half-bloods.

(Lore off, I sense a Lore-battle!)

Laghima has produced quality citizens and local leaders since it's founding many mercannum ago, but never have the local leaders of the state forcefully held hostage a member of the upper class, let alone the royal family!

As the good Grand Duke of Ostlaed said, these individuals are nothing but terrorist as long as they still see the bastard blooded Lady Theodora and her criminal ways as legitimate. Let us not forget a member of the soon to be Imperial Aristocracy has not seen his own birthplace in over fifteen years! Laghima refuses to sit by while these mongrels wreak havoc over the nation. Unlike my weakling father, I refuse to let a feeble desert rat rule my lands from the backseat. The Grand Duke keeps order and I will attain it by any means necessary. Though you should be pleased to see some more 'friendlier' ways be implemented as long as the general populace complies.

What havoc have they wrought? Their plight from my previous correspondence highlighted the issues and who apparently started them. Peaceful and non aggressive means of resolving this conflict or I will not hesitate to defend an inhabitant who had every intention of wishing to join the Mercurian Empire.
