This post is copied from the original thread in the Commons Build Locations: -Desert south of Northtown Image: Pros: Large flat-ish desert area, surrounding hills could be a nice place for villas Cons: Some terraforming of hills likely required to make sure the venues fit If you finds an alternative desert area near the Imperial City for this project, post below. Building Style Examples: https://imgur.com/a/avXRp http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/ ... sert-city/ http://paizo.com/image/content/Pathfind ... -Solku.jpg http://www.img.8minecraft.com/2013/02/M ... -Map-1.png This is the general style we are going for. Buildings will be made primarily of sandstone, with colored clay and stone brick accents. If you find other good examples, post below and they will be added here. Venues/Other Builds: -Outer Canal(s) and Aqueducts Description: system of canals and aqueducts that will go around the outside of the games area; should be one of the last projects completed Build Team: -Archway/Obelisks at the entrance Description: a large decorative monument to mark the entrance to the games Build Team: Ignis, Haedren -Coliseum Description: a large arena for massive PvP engagements; should include stands Build Team: -Hall of Champions Description: building to commemorate champions of the games; should include places for champion’s banners to be placed Build Team: -Awards Amphitheater Description: amphitheater for the awards ceremony Build Team: -Horse race track: Description: long race track going around the perimeter of the games area; should be one of the last projects completed Build team: -Brawling Pits Description: small brawling pits for 1v1 PvP; should be relatively small (maximum size around 16x16 for combat area) Build Team: -Spleef Arena Description: moderately-sized arena for spleef games; should have snow farm component for easy setup Build Team: -Bumper Boats Description: small-ish arena for a bumper boats game invented by the Chairman Build Team: -Parkour Course Description: pretty self-explanatory, should be multiple identical tracks due to challenges posed by entity collision Build Team: -Parkour Relay Course Description: similar to the course above, but with a relay component Build Team: -Archery Range Description: pretty self-explanatory; wooden buttons triggering lamps can make for easy hit detection system Build Team: -Elytra Course Description: elytra racing course of some variety; not entirely sure how this would work Build Team: If you have an idea for a venue or other build, please post below with a short description of the build. Also post below if you would like to sign up for a venue's build team. More than one person can work on each build. Layout: Below is a basic layout for the Games area. I will make a more detailed version that takes into account terrain in short order. |

We need to resume work on this if we want to actually get it done. Personally I think that after the application drive we should be putting the final touches on the games and be preparing to host them. But Mark suggested that we have a designated day for different activities. Perhaps the upcoming Wednesday is a good idea to gather a load of resources for a later day (perhaps Saturday) for actual building. thoughts? |
