Ealdorman Cerdic Beoden Accynnafon, I have sent this letter in the care of Moira Thannon. If it is delivered by any other and/or the seal on it is broken, it has most likely been intercepted. I have long wished to contact you, but your capture and the spy network of your brother have delayed me greatly. Now as the Empire jumps over the precipice into war, I wish to offer what assistance I may. My realm’s military forces are small and the blockade of the Imperial Sea will make bringing more mercenaries in difficult, but I believe Mark II’s very tactic of blockade may be used against him. My people produce a surplus of food in Anthi Laguna, and the stores at Greytower could sustain both it and Petra Nova for some time, so I propose I goad your brother – who I judge to be a proud and arrogant man – into carrying out his threat of blockading my lands if I take further action against him. In doing so he would be forced to move more ships away from Acholm, spreading his navy even thinner than it already is. This would help weaken his naval advantage against you and the imperial coalition. If this course of action is amenable to you, then I will take it without delay. Ulrik Gunnarson, I received your letter quite swiftly, judging by the date on the seal. Any help you wish to offer will be accepted. I understand the the Southern Östron fleet is preparing to siege Secara - if some were split off, it may tilt the tide of the battle to come.
