Greetings,

A great deal of fruitful discussion has taken place here concerning the use of tamed wolves within combat. Lore engagements and gentlemen's wars, by far teh most common form of conflict in Hermertia, will obviously continue to have separate Rules of Engagement however, such is the unlimited potential of wolves that the community has reached a near-consensus on teh topic of restricting their use in all legal warfare.

As such, the following heavily debated and agreed-upon language is proposed as an addition to the International Rules of War Act:

The Wolf Laws

1. Wolves shall not be allowed to be bred en masse for any purpose other than domestic use, whereas 'domestic use' refers to the status of being a tamed pet.

2. Tamed wolves may be employed in combat but shall be limited to a number of five (5) per combatant in the case of legal war.

3. Tamed wolves not engaged in combat shall not be slain or abused by any person(s).

Has it yet been determined how the wolves are to be counted in the event of a war? Perhaps I missed that point.

if someone is using moer than five, someone can screencap it and charge them with war crimes

I would very much like this to be included in the law before it receives my vote.

I mean, it is already included via the fact that if you break a war law it counts as a war crime, there no point in putting it in every war law

Fair point. If it is considered to be breaking the accepted standards (5) then it would be a war crime which is already punishable. Do we need to write it into this one if that is already accepted? Just curious what are take is on this because it will have to be considered in future laws regarding wars.

What is the exact wording of this in the Indoles Carta? I'm having difficulty finding it. Gonna go look again. I'm torn because using the same logic, killing a tamed wolf outside of combat would count as a war crime since that is also included in this same law.

Im fairly certain certain that the definition of breaking a war law would be a war crime what else would it be. If it isnt in the carta now we can add that in there as its own thign but we shouldnt go sticking it in every war law becuase it becomes redundant at that point
