Post subject: | [CB #8] Return of the Regent - Voting Reactivation [PASSED] |
Im starting this thread so we can formally "deal with" the return of the Regent. What I suggest is, to establish a formal precedent, we take a vote of all the active kings to "re-activate" his status as a voting member of the Council. To this end, I cast the Vote of Pyrencia in favor of his return |

Just to bring in the legalese - the legal precedent for reactivating a King is: 1) The Treaty of Thoth This treastise, passed by the Imperial Parliament of the Old World and still binding, clarifies the political status of Kingdoms as "potentially inactive, but always Divine". In other words, a Crown will forever be recognized as a Kingdom, but may lose specific political powers (i.e voting ability) when designated innactive. There is substantial communal agreement that, when the Regent left Hermertia, the Minervan Crown remained Divine but the Regent became innactive and lost his voting powers. The Treaty of Thoth also clearly states the way in which a Crown designated Inactive may be reactivated - "by a unanimous vote of the active members of the Council of the Crowned". Right now, the active members of the Council of the Crowned are: Arjen IV Vaethra Freyr Eberhardt Regent would require all three to approve his reactivation - he would then be designated as "Active". 2) The Indoles Carta The current iteration of the Indoles Carta, passed by the Imperial Parliament takes its inspiration from the Treaty of Thoth and lays out the same system for the reactivation of a Crown: Quote: 5.3.1 A abdicated king may resume kingdom status upon a unanimous vote from the Council of the Crowned, When they return they are given the title of Honorary King. They retain all the rights to their lands, vassals, etc. but do not have a vote on the council until the council has decided that they are truly dedicated to the server upon return. They can do this by participating in community projects, developing their own lands, and taking part in the forums and legal discussions. Both these sources concur: with a unanimous vote from Arjen IV, Vaethra, and Freyr Eberhardt, Regent would be restored to "Active" status and be allowed to vote on legislation. |

We can get Aeries to speak to Arjen who will, without a shadow of a doubt vote him active again, and Vaethra can be reached via messages. |

Thanks so much allies for the initiative on this post/bill! The Minervan remnants will do their part to bring back the glory of the old lore and libraries, and looks forward to playing a stronger role in international projects rather than a foolhearty focus on domestic growth. |

I also cast my vote to see an old ally and friend return. This is a good precedence setting scenario and I do believe the Regent should be able to be "active" again. |

Don't worry, I'm always watching the forums;) I'm excited to be able to cast my vote in favor of the Regent's return to active status! His contributions to this community are immense, and without them, no doubt, we would not be where we are today as a server. I look forward to working on cobuilds together again and listening to his sage advice on all things political and otherwise ![]() |

I apologize for my absence friends. I do plan on being on the server again moving forward as I miss you all. For this, and I know I have been absent, would like to show my support for the return of the Regent. He is always a welcomed part of the server. |

Thank you Councilmembers. I will provide an update on who I am exactly, how the title of Regent survived through members of a group that escaped its own calamity, and what we have been doing in the mean time in the Old World. We will strive to bring back glory to a kingdom that was shamed by the poor decisions and management of its last official leader. We will do so with earnest appreciation for all of you and your great accomplishments. Glory to the Empire! |
