After more than a week of discussion and community review, the updated International Criminal Code is presented for review and voting. Thank you all!

Mercurian International Criminal Code

Duping

Duping, where 'Duping' refers to the use of glitches and exploits to duplicate or reproduce any item or material, is illegal; players may be liable for prosecution immediately upon discovery of duping with all duped items being confiscated and under custody of the Imperial Court. Duping does not extend to the automated production of goods, nor does it include the use of legitimate in-game redstone mechanisms.

Vandalism or 'Griefing'

Vandalism or 'Griefing', where these terms refer to the willful destruction or denigration of any players’ property or belongings without their consent, is illegal. Individuals found to have committed acts of vandalism may be liable for prosecution at the discretion of the party or parties against whom vandalism was perpetrated.

Theft

Theft, where 'Theft' is defined as the knowing removal of any players' items and property from their possession without their consent, is illegal. Property may include, but is not limited to, items in personal chests, named items, items displayed in external objects such as armor stands and item frames, animals, tamed or untamed, named or unnamed, belonging to the player, villagers and citizens under the governance of the player, etc.

Destruction of Property

Destruction of Property, where 'destruction' is defined as the destruction or the rendering an item or object of another player less usable without their consent, is illegal. Destruction of Property may include, but is not limited to, the destruction of items and property, the depletion of tools and items, the killing of animals belonging to or citizens under the protection of another player, etc.

Defence of Person

(1) Everyone who is unlawfully assaulted without having provoked the assault is justified in repelling the assault by force if the force they use is no more than is necessary to enable him to defend themselves. Everyone who is unlawfully assaulted and who causes death in repelling the assault is justified if they believe, on reasonable grounds, that they cannot otherwise preserve themselves from death.

(2) Everyone is justified in using force to defend anyone under their protection from assault, if the party's protection is communicated and the party uses no more force than is necessary to prevent the assault or the repetition of it.

Culpable Homicide

Culpable homicide is defined as causing the death of a person; by means of an unlawful act; by criminal negligence; or by causing that person to commit an action resulting in their death which the culpable party had reasonable grounds to believe would occur.

The Do Not Be a Dink Act: Contempt for the Community and Mercurian Empire

All citizens of the Mercurian Empire have a duty to respect and act in accordance with the values of the community and the values of the Mercurian Empire as outlined in the Indoles Carta of Rights, Freedoms and Duties.

(1) A person who by the actions they take willfully and intentionally ignores, undermines, and/or contravenes these duties can be charged of being in Contempt of the Community and the Mercurian Empire may be charged with Contempt for the Community and the Mercurian Empire.

(2) A person who by the actions they take willfully and intentionally undermine the 'Vanilla' and 'Survival' ethos of the gameplay of the Mercurian Empire, including but not extending to use of outside plugins or mods, abuse of existing server plugins, or exploitation of bugs and glitches, may be charged with Contempt for the Community and the Mercurian Empire.
