This is a discussion thread to discuss Crest laws and Guidelines.

Here are the options per Emperor Myron:

1) We implement standardized crown systems requiring everyone with a crest to use the base model for the crown and filligree, with some measure of artistic liscence as i outlined in my previous post.

2) We allow people to use any style or crown they want, as long as it remains within certain size parameters for their rank (Que another discussion)

3) We implement no restrictions and anyone can use any crown they want.

4) We keep things the way that they are because it is a nonissue?

That's obviously not the case.

I'll make a more detailed reply to this in an hour or so after some work, but I am not in favor of option 4 AT ALL. If it generated around five pages of argumentative, heated, discussion it definitely IS a problem.

In the spirit of complete transparency, I don't want any discussion to occur over PM regarding this issue. Here is a PM from Mark that I received. I am not being a dick, I just want an open forum.

If this is referring to the topic found here: viewtopic.php?f=40&t=986&start=30, it honestly seems as though the only people taking large issue to this are Mark and Darius, as they were the most vocal. I would like everyone to input their opinion.

I am still of the mind that we shouldn't long for change so much that we remove tradition that has been a part of the server since its conception.

Five pages of heated discussion between you, Mark, and some of the Council. Certainly not a representation of the full spectrum of community opinion.

Currently we do have certain "restrictions" for the crowns that vassals, counts, dukes, and kings may wear. However, given that the Regent has worn that crown for the better part of 5 irl years now, I take no issue with his being the exception.

I am not going to turn this thread into one of pointing fingers and accusations, Arjen. If you would go back and read you would clearly see Chairman and Septimus making posts in the same light, as well as Tiber. There are also some who don't want to post their opinions because they don't want to upset certain individuals.
