This sounds like a good plan. Glad to see progress being made on this.

I think two votes other than yourself would be a good threshold for now. As the community grows, we would probably have to switch over to a percentage system.

Empress you might want to reread everything in this message. I thought what Delon said made perfect sense and your message made barely any.

Meant to type re-word, autocorrect!

I re-read it and im guessing it's you vote for 2 others for the High council (of course you have a vote for yourself by default if youre running for a position) What about non-high council runners or Counts/Vassals? What votes do they get?

I was saying you need two votes from other people to become a member of the High Council. When the community gets larger, two votes won't be that significant, so we may need to change to a percentage model (i.e. need the votes of 50% of all active community members to be on the High Council).

Sounds good to me. We can play around with it if we needto after a practical application of it. Good work here everyone. What do others think of this?

I am sorry but I am just not following this. I am more of a visual learner haha. It all sounds great to me so far. Is there any way we can make a scenario or something so we can all see how this is going to work.

I do like the idea that is starting to brew here.

Have to agree with Scrios there. Not really sure what's going to change now.

So I wrote up a draft so we can finally get this going. I really like what I have so far. Any and all criticism is welcome.

Voting System Restructure

The "Council of the Crowned" and "House of Dukes" will be replaced by "High Council" and "Low Council" respectively. These new Councils will assume all of the same legal roles, voting powers, responsibilities, and rights as their predecessors.

The new "High Council" will be made up of a minimum of 5 active Duke(s) and or King(s). When the number of active Duke(s) and or King(s) surpasses 11, 50% of active Duke(s) and or King(s) will be eligible to ascend to the "High Council". In the event that there are an odd number of eligible members, the number of positions available on the "High Council" will be rounded down. Kings will be allowed two(2) votes each on their respective council. Dukes will be allowed one(1) vote on their respective council.

An election for the "High Council" will take place every three months at the beginning of each quarter year. Every member of Hermertia will be allowed one(1) single vote. The highest scoring participants will be ascended to the "High Council". In the event that the minimum number of "High Council" members are not voted in; the vote will be restarted discluding the members who were already voted for ascension. Every Duke and or King that does not ascend to the "High Council" will be placed on the "Low Council".

Eligibility for the High Council

  • Must be a Duke or King by the beginning of the election.
  • Must be active at least one week before voting begins.

Language changes in the Indoles Carta and its Acts

All instances of "Council of the Crowned" will be changed to "High Council"
All instances of "House of Dukes" will be changed to "Low Council"
All instances of "Ducal Bill" will be changed to "Lower Council Bill"

This has my support. Does the Lower Council(Old house of Dukes) reduce the number of the votes required by 1 or does it reduce it to 50%? Seems like with this new variable number system we'd have to do some math and hypotheticals as 1 might not work for some instances and achieve nothing, whereas 50% would.

Food for thought!
