Amidst two glittering snow peaks lies a small keep that guards the entrance to a small city over one of the peaks, on the other, through a bridge stands tall a temple where the stars are visible night and day. The temple tells a tale upon it's walls, currently we cannot understand its meaning. Inside the city are currently two houses and several suburbs, all were abandoned a long time ago. Through the woods appeared a bearded man, dressed in his homes attire, he has in his hands a crumpled letter from his new liege, after swearing fealty he had been instructed to refurnish and remake the broken village into a great city. He entered the keep, the doors were as doormats and the torches had long gone out, the darkness had given refuge to some vile creatures whom hit upon the settlers shield and rested on his blade. He looked around and headed up toward the crumbled buildings, he set up inside and began to refurnish. Once the houses were all well he added upon the keep's defenses building another floor and several towers, he plugged holes in the walls and uncovered some petty holes that had evidence of being used as homes. Now he directed his attention for something that could help him gather food, thus saving him the hassle of running up and down the cliff for a simple breast of chicken. The rugged terrain forced him to build terrace-farms. Quickly becoming self-sufficient on the food aspect he decided to erect an inn. With the main structure set he wrote back home stating that he had found a suitable place for a settlement, they had promised him some men and women to be sent his way after he was ready for them. His new liege had stated the need to connect to the rest of the realm. He was sceptical of this as foreigners were not trustworthy people. Realising his current predicament he obliged with his liege, if he had to interact with his neighbours he might as well make the first move so he moved out where he heard there was another settlement, a coastal fort of sorts, he might be able to trade something here. A mountain stronghold within the wilderness. Fascinating. I would like to see this with my own eyes. |
