On the recent thread that Mark made on /r/worldbuilding I noticed a comment saying that the map is a bit hard to read. As in, it's hard to tell what's land and what's not. Now, I'm pretty familiar with the landmasses and such but I can definitely see it being a bit of an issue. So, this isn't really a full update yet but I've added some colours to both land and sea as a little test run. If this is something we'd like to go for then I'll clean up the waters by the border and such.

Is this something we should work with in the future or should we stick to the old, "monochrome" style?

I like the new color scheme better. It is definitely a lot easier to tell what is going on.

Looks great! How would it look without the grid lines?

Good call, Mark. I think I might like it better without the lines now that it's got a bit of depth to it. Although the (currently) empty areas are a bit more pronounced without them. Any other opinions?

First step would be re-centering it and zooming in a bit. After that, you could possibly find some minecraft related artwork, convert to black/white and put it in the margins like old maps had with various monsters.

Yup, I'm kind of a lazy prick so I haven't gotten around to adding a not-shit looking legend and such in the empty space. You're right about re-centering the thing. Now that the grid is gone it's pretty obviously not centered quite right. Still, I'm a bit timid about removing too much before I get the layout planned out.

Good point about the monsters as well. Since we're mostly surrounded by land it wouldn't be out of the picture to have some of that added. I'll have to sit down one day and work this out. I'm open to any and all suggestions, so keep 'em coming.
