_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_ The people of Reinen were largely unaffected by the passing of Asredia, except for those in Hellasburg where she had lived and where the new duchess resided. Asredai had been a great ruler and the grief that came with her death was felt throughout Hellasburg. The Grandmaster had taken Asredai's death especially hard and was persuaded into retirement by Vaneth, who claimed he was no longer fit for duty in his state of grief. He was given a home north of Hellasburg in a small town where he was well looked after until his death. The people of the new duchess were pale skinned and all had some form of red hair. Their skin, along with being pale, was warmer than the other races in Hermertia and their eyes, most of the time matching their hair, are mildly luminescent. Vaneth’s people were secretive about their origins but there have been some hints towards some nether artifact being the cause. Most of the Pyrencian population had left Reinen to go help during the civil war, with a large amount dying. There were very few that came back, leaving Reinen very empty. Most of the population gathered in reinen and the town just north of it. Since then the population had grown with most of it being the new race. _~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_ Now Duchess Vaneth lay on her deathbed with her Second, Aethemora, the one who would be taking her place. The duchess was old, too old. There was a rumor going around that had to do with witchcraft but it was likely that Vaneth has just been incredibly lucky to have made it for so long. Aethemora had been chosen at a young age to rule after Vaneth passed and now at 20 she was finally to take her mentor’s place. Every bit of knowledge on how to rule that could be passed on, has been and Aethemora was ready to take over. Vaneth’s last moments were peaceful thanks to a mixture made by the local alchemist and her funeral was filled with celebrations of her life, something parts of the population were unfamiliar with but happy to be a part of. Aethemora was passed the circlet the next day after she kept vigil with her mentor. _~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_ |

A truly saddening moment for the Empire. Vaneth will be missed. A new beginning for Reinen with this new group of people though, I wish to hear more about my new future neighbours.
