Thats a relatively simple change, we'll update the Year of the Emperor then.

What year is it if we do that change?

I agree with Gimpy here. Sorry if I was inadvertently ignoring you. I think June should be the date we came out of the Dark Age, start that as Phoenix 00-00, so then July would have been Phoenix 00-01 and August is now Phoenix 00-02. The date would then now be Year of the Emperor 442 (as in June it was 430 and July it was 436).

Seems reasonable.

Should we go ahead with the new year then ? 442?

Year 442 of the emperor...there are no reasons not to, at least none stated yet. So long as we mAke a decision and do not go back on it again I'm happy. I just want to move on and sort out the lore

This was my initial reasoning, which I actually had thought I recorded here; woops! I concur: the current date is 00-02 in the cycle of the Phoenix. Thank you everyone for hammering this out!

I agree with making June 1st the beginning of the era for many of the reasons stated by others above. Also, lore-wise Casadians use a different dating system that counts the years after a particular historical event that occurred outside of the context of the Empire. So if anyone sees dates tagged with AL or After Landing in my lore, just know that it does not correspond to the Imperial date system (though the AL and AI dates are quite close). Just wanted to head off any potential confusion.

I agree with the year change to 442. The only thing that changes is that I have no idea how old my character is, which is actually more easier for me, as I can just pick another age.

Where does this year of the Emperor come from? Is that how many years it has been since the establishment of the new world?

Not the new world no, I'm not sure of the origin of this, I assume just the foudning of teh Empire, as the Empire existed in the old World as well. Regent will know. I just use the YoE as an easier time keeping method and then translate it into Mercanna for official stuff
