UPDATE: So the server address is not listed by default. See instructions below to add it manually

Are you too lazy to open Minecraft to see who's currently playing on a server? Then this is for yoooouuuuuuu!!!! Ok, so for the last couple of days I've been working on this little program that shows server status in your system tray (Windows only!). If you want to try it go ahead and download it, just know that its fresh off the presses and may still be hot (have bugs).

You're probably thinking "Oh wow Mimo, you made this? Well how does it work, how do I use this new thing? Well I'm glad you asked! Once downloaded unpack the zip and leave everything where it is in the folder, run the jar file and then look in your system tray for a TNT icon (bottom left, might be hidden in the little up arrow). But if you do want to set it to a new server address click the "Set Server Address" button and enter the IP and port, then click ok and re-run the jar file.

To see how many players are online, hover your cursor over the "Server Status" menu, it will display the server description and # of players online. To view a list of the players on, click on the number of players online, a new window will open listing the player names. Click the X to close the window. (The name listing might not work, its still buggy)

If the server is offline or you entered an invalid IP/port address (or the file is empty) then the "Server Status" will show "Server Offline" in place of the description and # of players on. And finally the refresh button does not work yet and as such, to refresh the list you must restart the program by clicking exit from the menu and re-running the jar.

So go forth and enjoy playing with it! I am going to continue working on it and see if I can get it fully working (refresh button and such).

New thing (2016-12-07) - Mark pointed out that I had stored the IP address as plain text. The addresses file is now empty, so to add the server IP address type the IP address on the first line of the text file and the port number on the second (See pic below), save and close the file then run the program. Super insider top-tip: Don't know the IP address? Click on the edit button on the server listing minecraft. The port number is the default minecraft port, 25565.

The old download link was also taken down so if someone has it, it will no longer work.
