Soooo, looks like things might not be going so hot for reddit right now. From what I've gathered, the woman who basically runs all of the AmA's got fired unexpectedly and nobody knows why. This caused a bunch of other subreddit admins and mods to freak out because they didn't know how to run AmA's on their subreddits cuz this woman did it for them. They then decided to protest her firing by making their subreddits private? I think. Anyways, subreddits like /r/science, /r/funny, and /r/4chan are down. It appears like we may be witnessing the end of reddit? I don't want to be dramatic, but that's what it seems like. I guess people may be migrating to a site called voat.co (yes it's just .co). Anyone know more than I do?

I'm on a bunch of social network websites that often explode in drama and threaten to shut down and usually results in everybody freaking out for a few days and then it calms down every single time.

Doubt it'll be the end of reddit, as Biakko says. That being said they better sort their shit out.

If Voat has an opportunity to advertise, we should take it. If posts need a few upVoats (hur hur) then we should make accounts and upVoat what we need to be seen for advertising.

So I just looked at voat for the first time; is it just me, or is it essentially the exact same thing as reddit? They literally replaced "subreddit" with "subverse".

By George, you're right, Nick! It's like a reddit clone. Looks like you can earn money for getting top posts or something along those lines? I enjoyed reddit a lot, so I don't mind it being very similar.

From what I hear, there is a petition that was started to dethrone, er, get the CEO of Reddit to step down.

I was able to go on to Voat for one minute before their servers collapsed when I tried going to a new page on it. It looked just like a clone of Reddit which is why I probably won't use it.
