Taken from the founder of Alos Island Settlement, Alexander Stark, vassal of the Chairman in the Cycle of the Dragon*:

"This book will hereby state all the species on [Alos] Island and neighboring islands, that I, Alexander Stark, have documented.

Observed all throughout the island of [Alos] and especially on Lesser [Alos] Agricultural [Isle], The Wild [Aloan] Pig was known to travel in packs of ~2-10, and often wandering aimlessy, climbing on treetops of heavily forested areas. After years of domestication I have successfully bred a sub-species of pig, known as the Domesticated [Aloan] Pig. Never before have they seen freedom, they are all descended from 2-4 pigs.

Wild [Aloan] Cows are a very [lackluster] species. They have been found on the farmost western part of [Alos], on the forested hills. They have been proven to be very slow, mentally and physically, and stay in packs of 2-6. Domesticated [Aloan] Cows are a sub-species I am in the process of breeding. Descended from two cows taken from the far most western regions of Alos, they have contentiously bred offspring and have only had one die as of now. The current state of the species can still be considered as "Wild [Aloan] Cows, as if I released them into the wild, they'd overpopulate the region and kill all life with their intense slowness and loudness.

I attempted to domesticate the species of Wild [Aloan] Chicken, but they were so incompetent that they all killed themselves. But I think I have to give this species some credit.. they may have killed themselves in order to escape domestication and becoming part of the genus "Domesticated".

On the terms of genus, I have sorted the species of this island into two: Wild, and Domesticated. Though both wild and domesticated can, in theory, reproduce with one another, the offspring may experience traits that will either make it sterile or die before it is able to mature"

*Most of this was taken from a journal intended to be apart of a Library of written books, the part about of the genus was intended to be filler and should not be looked at too seriously.

The library at Acholm will certainly be enriched by the biological studies of Alexander Stark.

It makes me happy to see these journals and to learn new things about the GRHH.

Fascinating post. I must send a research team to Dawnstar's natural areas to document the wildlife there!

Is there anything in his journals detailing strange trees?
