Post subject:  Emperor vs. Kings

So I was cruising through, trying to catch up on the history and lore I've been missing. I looked at the Indoles Carta and saw nothing about it, So I wondered, Does the Emperor's vote count the same as the Kings, or is there some additional weight counted? I saw that Emperor Myron extended a vote to a new applicant, and the stating of granting him a king vote seemed strange.

I was only here for a little bit of the original Emperor's reign. As such, I'm not too clear on what all extra privilege it entails. What necessarily separates the powers and votes of the Emperor from any King? I feel as though the office (especially with the long *coughslowcough* process) and the thought out manner in which the new Emperor was deliberated and elected, should carry more weight, or more distinct roles that that of a glorified king. I understand the hesitation to grant one man or woman an enormous amount of power that could be exploited, but with the weight and reverence of the office, I feel there should also come weightier privileges and responsibilities and powers.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, or to teach me what I don't know. It just seemed off to me in reading through everything.

The title of Emperor is purely ceremonial, good sir barath, though i do retain my king vote. Thusly, for all purposes of voting i am considered equal to any other member of the council of the crowned. the main purpose and duty of the emperor is to preside over important ceremonies across the empire and the act as a cultural figurehead, majestically tied to the front of the glorious ship of the empire, sailing across the vast uncharted sea of freedom and legislative processes, the fine ground salt of progress spraying up into my time honored face and soaking into the majestic robes of elected offices

As Myron says, it's just that. Purely ceremonial. We didnt want to give anyone a huge amount of power, that'd be from experience a relatively bad an unfair way to do things.
