Agreed, I seem to recall when we connected to the old world, some of us spent a half mercannum or more updating the main line (purple line) which itself covers the bulk of the developed old world (or at least connects to major, generally short, other lines, like the blue line).

Horses had been out for what, a year before the New World? I'd hope there are more lines than that even!

The plan is to have horses teleport with you, but that is obviously something that may not be possible.

To speak more on the technical side, is this going to be a custom plugin? I ask because it is a relatively simple plugin to make (teleporting with signs) and to add the feature where your horse comes with you would not be too difficult to do either. You know what, Im gonna try making a test plugin that does exactly that.

I don't see the need for a new plugin for simply teleporting, we have command blocks to do that exactly. There are even parameters for teleporting entities within a certain range (i.e. within the command block range).

I've yet to see anything that allows you to teleport your horse as well via command block.

Also, the Old World would likely be a separate map file with a separate nether file. You'd need a plugin for that.

Also, I heard some concerns at one point about command blocks causing lag or some such.

Ah yes I forgot the Old World would be on a seperate file so a plugin would be needed. I believe we used Multiverse in the past.

But if we ever need to teleport horses for some reason (i.e. on boats), here is the command:

/execute @p ~ ~ ~ tp @e[type=EntityHorse,r=1] x y z

You have to be within one block of the horse (or riding it).

Completely unfounded

If I recall correctly, it was more like 4-6ish months that horses had been out. Many of the lines are pretty extensive and modifying them for horse use would have been a monumental task. So, I think only a few of the very new lines actually are horse friendly.

The idea that I liked was that we would put the old world in the southeast of the map. We've basically lorified this ocean in the southeast and I think it would be nice if we just placed the old map in that ocean. It eliminates the need for a multiworld plugin and makes the whole world flow together more nicely. We can connect the old world via nether and port rather than an inter-dimensional portal.

Also yes this should work fine, and it shouldnt cause lag of any kind.
