Hey all,

I think it is past time that we built an official Imperial Games site (much like the Games Island in the old world). Given the increase in activity that comes with the summer months, this would be the perfect opportunity to bring the community together for a big co-build. Seeing as this is an important international build, I would like to open a discussion regarding the location, stylings, venues, and other aspects of the new Imperial Games site. I will include a list below of the various options brought up in the ensuing discussion.

Location options:
-Imperial City

Styling Options (i.e. build style for the venues, landscaping, etc.):
-Desert oasis (i.e. lots of sandstone, gardens, canal around the outside)

Venue Options:
-Horse racing track
-Coliseum (for large PvP fights)
-Brawling pits (for 1v1 PvP)
-Spleef arena
-Bumper boats
-Parkour course
-Parkour relay course
-Archery Range
-Elytra course

This is a good idea in that a single nation does not carry the burden each round. For those who have not visited it, the Imperial Games island was a great success.

Chairman and I have done some preliminary discussion of the potential site details, and this is what we have come up with:

Location: Desert to the east of the Imperial City
The capital is the ideal place for the games, given its central location and (eventual) role as the premier city in the empire.

Styling: Desert Oasis
Builds will consist of mostly sandstone and clay, with various other accents as possibilities. The site will have a number of water features/gardens.

Venues of note: large coliseum, awards amphitheatre, Hall of Champions

Tentative layout:

Image

The venue will have one central road leading from the entrance to the awards amphitheatre. There will be smaller roads coming off of the main path leading to smaller venues, with the larger venues clustered near the end of the road. The entire site will be encircled by a horse racing track. The entrance to the site will be flanked by two large obelisks (perhaps with an Imperial Games logo on the side?). The branches leading to the various venues will also be marked by smaller obelisks.

Perhaps instead of various market stalls, there could be buildings dedicated to each Country/Duchy/Kingdom participating in the games? Like living quarters/embassies for the athletes of each realm?

Yeah I'm down for this. Around this time last year I thought I saw plans to recreate the Imperial Games but I guess they never were realized. Glad to see it has more traction this time around!

Writing down this idea:

Horse track on outside ring, with a combo of a small canal, palm trees, and a desert lush style oasis garden outside of that to mark the border of the Imperial Games site.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Perhaps near the entrance we could construct living quarters/facilities to house participants during the games, sort of like the Olympic village.

That sounds freaking awesome - perhaps limit the size or set the size so everyone makes a standard sized building, and uses their chose of materials and style? Aka plots
