Sounds like a good idea to me. Perhaps near the entrance we could construct living quarters/facilities to house participants during the games, sort of like the Olympic village.

That sounds freaking awesome - perhaps limit the size or set the size so everyone makes a standard sized building, and uses their chose of materials and style? Aka plots

Good idea. Give everyone a 20x20 area or something like that. I think we should save embassies for the imperial city itself, though.

I agree with Chairman in that we should just have realm-specific living quarters instead of true embassies. I also think the plot idea is a good way to keep things somewhat uniform size-wise while also allowing for easy planning for that section of the site.

Having a single site host the imperial games seems boring to me. I would prefer to see different nations host the games on an annual basis.

Similar to the real life Olympics, each nation who wishes to host the games would tender a bid to do so, either offering an existing site or the plans to develop a new site within their borders. Those bidding to host the games must prove they have sufficient infrastructure to do so ( upto scratch site, decent nether links, etc) before being put to a vote (Either open to all players or just dukes/kings)

Also similar to the real world, some nations will have terrible sites if they build it and won't be able to host it properly.

Single site or bust.

I disagree that having multiple sites is a better option. I believe we would be better served building one amazing Games venue together than having various realms build multiple ultimately inferior venues. It just makes more sense to combine our efforts than divide them.

I agree that having one venue built by the community dedicated to hosting the Games is a good idea. Frankly, there's never been consistent interest shown by individual nations to build a Games site each Era (e.g. we haven't had a Games since the one in Kaine). This way, we will always have a place to host the Games and realms won't be left with large unused constructions.

However, if a nation wants to host the Games one era and they show sufficient drive to complete a site, then I think that it would be fine to host the Games there.

Since there have not been any alternatives proposed, is everyone okay with moving forward with the Imperial City location and the desert oasis styling? I would like to get this project rolling as soon as possible.

We've not built our own games yet because its a big task and also we've got Ports to build.

I dont enjoy desert much but I'm sure we can make something look good if we're all there.

See you at the Imperial City.

I suggest that you update the original post with all the new suggestions/guidelines that were settled on for readability.
