This was my main worry, as I distinctly remember a post being deleted from the old forums and there being a decision that it was a community resource and should not be deleted by any one person. While obviously this is not the same circumstance proposed, I don't like the idea of post deletion based on your judgement, however good it may be
I agree with others; yes, we have gotten off track a bit more than usual lately. One post saying 'everyone shape up' in the thread in question fixes that. This thread is a good reminder to all to be a bit more in-character sometimes, but I don't think it should lead to a new practice of deletion of posts deemed off-topic.
