Drinven is a coastal village, located in the marshes southwest of Oaese. It is currently inhabited by an extremely small population of 200 Valtorian settlers and about 75 Drinven natives, who call themselves the Fughen.

Drinven is said to contain the remains of a regional kingdom of five thousand people, which Fughen documents claim succumbed to "The Great Flood." The only building said to have survived this flood was a watchtower, designed to enable guards to detect undead sieges from an appreciable distance. As the kingdom's tallest structure, it was the only edifice not completely submerged by the sudden increase in sea level caused by the flood. The powerful waves of The Great Flood are said to have obliterated homes on impact, and cause the kingdom's most prodigal building, Castle Drinven, to sink dozens of meters underground. Many were killed instantly by the flood, and many more drowned shortly after. Only a small group of people, ranging from ~150-200, were able to find refuge in the watchtower. However, with farms ravaged by the flooding, many died of famine, and the the entire population was on the brink of destruction.

It was thanks to the kingdom's lead architect, Troben Stormhammer, that a source of food was created. He led the creation of "The Cerulean Valley", an underwater farm that produced enough food to easily sustain over a hundred people. The creation of the Cerulean Valley was an arduous task, and many architects involved in its construction were swept away by the ocean currents and perished. Meanwhile, other Fughen participated in the reinforcement of the watchtower, which had suffered heavy damage from the trying blows of the flood. Some of the more courageous Fughen found themselves back at sea, sailing in search of survivors, livestock, and potentially useful debris created by the flood. Eventually, a self-sustaining community was formed, built from the survivors of the catastrophe. The Cerulean Valley was a huge success, and fed the Fughen for many generations.

Decades after the Great Floods, water levels had receded a few meters, but remained far above the level at which the old kingdom was built. The Fughen collected resources by salvaging the remains of Castle Drinven, which used of most of the region's wealth and was built from many materials integral to the continued expansion of the watchtower. Food, provided primarily by wheat, cows, and sheep, was bountiful. However, the framework of the watchtower began showing signs of failure, magnifying the need for resources such as lumber and stone. Unfortunately, the few landmasses in sight were unsuitable for mining, and the only boat present in the watchtower was worn from its original role in the Great Flood, and inappropriate for exploration of the outside world. The people of Fughen were forced to find a solution to their predicament quickly, or face death upon the tower's collapse. To preclude imminent destruction, a group of Fughen, led by Kakoure Vermeil, hastily built a Nether Portal from salvaged blueprints in hopes of finding material suitable for reinforcement of the watchtower. What they found exceeded their expectations: a sprawling fortress composed almost entirely of nether brick. However, the fortress quickly proved to be a dangerous place; the appearance of Ghasts and Blazes forced the party to venture into the depths of the fortress. It was thanks to this that the group stumbled upon the Valtorian nether lines, which happened to be connected to the nether fortress. After a couple of days traversing the lines, Kakoure and his companions reached Oaese, where they were able to obtain the desperately needed resources for the watchtower. In exchange for mining rights in Drinven, which was discovered to contain large stores of lapis lazuli, the Valtorian people offered to aid the Fughen in their time of need. The exchange was made, and the watchtower received its vital repairs.

The Fughen, now connected to the rest of Mercuria, diffused throughout the Kingdom of Valtoros. Although the majority remained in Drinven, many Fughen left to settle in other Valtorian cities, glad to escape the land that had trapped them for so long. Access to the Nether lines made trade possible, and once Drinven was officially connected to the Nether Line system, it began to steadily export lapis lazuli in exchange for wood and stone, which would be used to build a proper settlement atop the more elevated landmasses of Drinven, which had proven themselves to be safe from future floods. Oaese mining efforts allowed the creation of a successful mine, despite prevalence of overly-saturated soil.

Presently, Drinven is undergoing the proccess of Valtorian settlement, a movement spearheaded by Kakoure to return Drinven to its original power and stability.
