After the formation of the Östron realm of Östlaed in 496, I hoped that the many Östron communities in the outer areas of the realm could be brought into the fold. Today, I appeal to the Council of the Crowned to recognize the following claims:

Image

* The County of Acholm, with the town of Acholm, consisting of several smaller villages. It is shaded in green.

* The County of Merscafen, currently used as a mine. There is rumored to be a great evil in that swamp, with a portal to an entirely different dimension. Home to Östron fishermen, and miners. Shaded dark grey.

* Unnamed County #1, currently home to a dark magical forest, and some Östron fishermen. Shaded dark grey.

* Unnamed County #2, a plains biome home to Östron horselords and farmers. Shaded dark grey.

The growth of the town of Acholm is well documented here:http://hermertia.com/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=678

We, the people of Östlaed feel that bringing in more of our fellow peoples will only help us to better serve the needs of the Empire at large. Should any members of the Council or the House of Dukes want to visit to evaluate our plans in detail - we would be most happy to host those individuals.

Thank you for your consideration.

Your endeavors have been noted with great interest amongst the ruling elite of Pyrencia, and i am in favour of the outlined expansion

This is a significant step for the Östrons, I also approve of this. Yours have proven themselves to be of capable and solid expansion, industrious and a benefit to the Empire at large.

May the rising Östron star never waver.

I see no issue with this expansion. Your people have consistently proven themselves to be among the most productive in the Empire. Keep up the incredible pace!

I was told I technically need the typical vote count for this to be legal, but that doesn't appear to have happened for any recent expansions in the past yesr, and it is not mentioned in the Indoles Carta. Anyone care to chime in on that?

Also, thanks for your support so far!

You do not need a vote count for this, just general approval by the Council/community and your neighbors.

Might it be worth codifying the process for land expansion if an independent Count/Duke? 'General approval' seems like a vague term.

General approval would mean no objections. It's pretty simple, don't think it needs clarifying.

Yeah, do we want to tie up expansion in a sea of beurocracy? I think if someone has an objection, they can make the objection known. Otherwise, I think a general consensus has been working fairly well.
