But I agree, I'm leaning towards this lore battle as well. Let's wait for other dukes/kings to join in and concur, then we can begin planning out the when/factions/rules of engagement etc. Sounds like it would be a blast.

I guess by necessity I should be on the side of the Old World Minervans? And that way any damage the bandits due during their merciless defence would be fitting because I'd be sore but it would be deserving for me to have to see the city suffer in my attempts to recapture it? e.g., the bandits are clearly out of minerva's control so if some other people led the bandits, they can do what they want to the city in the siege and it would make sense lore-wise?

But Saaaaaaaaaaam, dogs are fun and add challenge and realism to the battle, making it more enjoyable for all.

We should fully record it for future applications/teasers. Let's aim to get as many of us as possible, and have the streets littered with arrows, armour, and the vanquished. Hermertia's first urban-warfare setting, and if enough players are in it, Hermertia's first metropolis-siege.

QUESTION: is it a bad idea to suggest giving one player fly/invunerability purely for the purpose of screen-recording? Normally game-aiding plugins/cheats are against the server, but for the purpose of recording would not interfere with the lore at all. This would be invaluable for recruiting too. The requirement would be a) someone with a good machine, and b), someone with moderate experience with recording/streaming so that we get it right. We can do post-recording editing/commentary, so it doesn't need to be live. What do people think?

Another idea to brainstorm: we reach out to ALL old players purely to say: we're not asking you to come back permanently, but we want to have as big of a battle as possible. Want to join? This could surprisingly be a way to reinvigorate the interest of old players who would then actually stay, or would nonetheless create a large battlefield which itself would be a great source of recruitment for the future.

During the recent Ender Dragon fight, we had someone who died early on fly around and take screenshots. It would be cool to do that again, but that means someone would have to sit out the battle.
