Greetings, friends and allies across the Empire.

Centuries ago, Adam Scrayven of the Old World set forth on a journey of discovery. From his frost-gripped homeland in the Mercurian Wastes he sailed east and, guided by the rising sun, made his way across vast seas and treacherous currents. His destination: Mercury Isle. That melting pot of Imperial culture, the birthplace of a vast new Empire formed from the ashes of The Fleeing, was and will always remain a symbol of Imperial progress and the great work that comes when peoples from across the reaches of Hermertia, of different races, different cultures, and different backgrounds rise up and say with one voice, For Glory!

As we know today, Adam Scrayven made it to Mercury Isle. His journey has been forever immortalized in Wysterian lore as the Wayfarer’s Journey, and today guides our people to forever seek out the unknown, the unshared perspective in an effort to improve themselves. It has led to the adoption of the official Wysterian motto: Success Through Perspective.

Looking back on that momentous voyage all those years ago, we in Wysteria are glad to say that our realm has done Adam proud in our eternal search for perspective. From Adam’s early days travelling the Old World, learning of the realms of the Empire and forming early friendships which would last lifetimes. From a chance historic meeting with King Arjen of New Ertia, and the learning of his people’s fascinating history which would lead to centuries of working under Ertia. From the establishment of the farming village of Craikennais, and the gradual development of a new faith in Ertian Reflectivism. From the tremors of the Unravelling that shook the Old World, and Adam’s desire for peace and protection for his peoples. From an escape from stagnation that saw Adam lead his peoples to a New World. From the settlement of Fort Azure in a new Ertia and the rise of a new heir in Sean. From ascension to Count of Port Goldcrest and the rise of trade and industry in Eastern Ertia. From the founding of the Duchy of Laborate, and the welcoming of Snail – a friendship that would last generations. From ascension to Duke and a historic voyage back to the Old World the Scrayvens had left so long ago. From the formation of the Merchant’s Guild, an organization dedicated to connecting the lands of the Empire through trade and diplomacy so that we may all better understand one another. From the rise of a new leader with a new vision in Duke Nicholas. From the founding of Wysteria and the laying of the first bricks in Gallen. From the expansion that would unfurl over the coming decades; the welcoming of new vassals in Biakko, Squire, Chronnis, and Mimo; the founding of new settlements and the industrial, economic, and commercial tide that spread across Wysteria. From the rise of Duke Nicholas II, a reserved legal scholar who would play a key role in drafting Imperial legislation, from war laws and legislative protocol to the truly historic modernization of the Indoles Carta. From the international expansion of the Merchant’s Guild and the presecense of Wysterian envoys at collaborative projects across the Empire. From the cultural explosion of maritime passenger travel, and the linking of Gallen to ports across the Empire like never before. From Wysteria's first major military action, the Defence of Gallen that protected the great city from raiders and brigands and in so doing recognized the power Wysteria had achieved in diplomatic relations with realms across the Empire as international garrisons from our wealth of Embassies gave their lives to defend a united symbol of Imperial collaboration and outreach. From the tragic and senseless death of Nicholas that, against the odds, brought the peoples of Wysteria together to forge from smoldering sorrow new democratic reforms that have culminated in our current election - the first ever in the Empire - to determine the next Minister of Wysteria. From new friendships to old alliances, the future for Wysteria has never looked brighter.

And so, it is in recognition of both the deep and historic ties Wysteria's founders have with the Empire and of the great expansion of the Grand Duchy of Wysteria, that we, The Labourer's Council of Wysteria, formally submit our application for recognition as a Kingdom of the Mercurian Empire and the ruler of Wysteria as a sitting member of the Council of the Crowned, endowed with all rights and recognised with all divinity afforded to members of that illustrious Council.

Though we have no sway in such matters, you have Casadia's full support in this endeavor.

I am pleased to announce that after a number of visits and deliberations between advisors and the Queen, Dawnstar has extended it's vote to Wysteria's bid for a Council seat.

Congratulations!

As of the number of Kings active and eligible to vote at the time of the application, Wysteria requires five royal votes to achieve ascension. These are:

- King Erastil of Pyrencia
- Queen Samyrrah of Dawnstar
- King Tiber III of Isilioth
- King Scrios of Perth
- King Kyn of Valtoros

Let it be known that Wysteria is happy to receive honorary votes from Kings who cannot currently vote, and would in fact encourage this. The Regent and Arjen represent realms that have deep and rich relationships with Wysteria, and we would be only too happy to see them reflected in honorary votes, regardless of the legal minutia. The firm and lasting friendships we have formed matter far more.

------

In the course of a whirlwind day of delegations and deliberations, the Wysterian Assembly today welcomed representatives from Pyrencia, Dawnstar, Perth, and Valtoros. Discussions were profitable, and the day concluded in our realm receiving 4 out of 5 required votes for ascension!

I understand that Scrios voted on my behalf but I still wanted to show that the Kingdom of Valtoros fully supports this. So I, King Kyn, traveled there in person to cast my vote.

Your support of Wysteria's ascension is much appreciated, good King; your dedication and commitment make us proud to count ourselves as friends of Valtoros.

At the conclusion of a day of touring and inspections by King Tiber II of Isilioth and his retinue, a vote was formally cast by the realm of Isilioth on behalf of our application to KIngdom status.

Image

It is with great pride and pleasure that we confirm that the final vote required has been cast: Wysteria is now recognized as the newest Kingdom of the Empire, and joins the Council of the Crowned!

As Wysteria is still in the midst of an election, the title of King has been collectively conferred to the Labourer's Council where it shall be exercised by collective determination as has been the case with the leadership of Wysteria since the death of Nicholas II. Following the election of a Minister of the Assembly, the title shall be conferred to him or her, where it will remain until a new MInister is elected. As such, teh cycle will continue; the Empire's first elected King, but an example of progress and diplomacy of a kind that has led the Empire for centuries and will last far beyond Wysteria.

Let us look to the future, friends; there are great things to come.

Image

------

Thanks to everyone; it has been a long and hard journey to this position which I have glimpsed at ever since I saw purple names on the old (x2) forums over 5 years ago. While our server has changed and evolved, suffered and faced trials that threatened to down it for good, and grown wondrously in that time with the addition of dozens of new faces and voices, much has remained the same: the dedication to close community which has grown even stronger with new friends and new ways of communicating, the value in trade and diplomacy which have nurtured New and Old World alike and allowed us to come together to create new prosperity and new projects, and the commitment to a rich lore which has seen some great new developments as new players join us and realms old and new see great stories.

I look forward to seeing how we continue to grow, and am thrilled to be able to take part in this wonderful server as our newest King.

For Glory!
