Twelve hours ago I was merely the crown princess of Pyrencia. Twelve hours ago, my mother Vaethra stepped into the nether to supervise the construction of a new nether line. Eleven hours ago, a rouge ghast blasted a worker into Vaethra's horse, knocking it to the ground, and her off the ledge. She fell into one of the fortress that dot the hellscape, and the workers quickly lost sight. Ten hours ago, her gaurds managed to find her body, surrounded by black bones and stone blades, withered away to a husk, as if all the life had been sucked out of her body. Nine hours ago, the guard-captain brought me his report. eight hours ago, my tears ran dry. Seven hours, and the bladesmiths returned mothers blade to me, and i buckled it to my hip. Six, Five, Four, and Three i spent in seclusion in Edhevrand. Two hours ago, i stepped out of the castle to formally present the news to the people of my capital. One hour ago, the priest of Azarn placed the pyrencian crown upon my head

And for hours too long to count, the people of Pyrencia and across the Empire will mourn her passing.

We live in a dangerous world. Let no one forget the sacrifices of their forebears to bring safety and stability to an otherwise lethal and uncaring universe.
