Arkelai rose to prominence within the ranks of Casadia for his efforts in defending Kybalia's eastern coast during the Aletheian Civil War. During one incursion, he suffered a serious arrow wound that hampered his fighting ability going forward. After the untimely death of Aurennis, he was raised to the rank of Guardian of Casadia. During his time as Guardian, he oversaw the development of the eastern region of Torvea, as well as the founding of the Casadian capital of Ankylos. He retired from the position of Guardian in 478 A.I. after a bout of pneumonia left him severely weakened.
