Technology of the Mercurian Empire

A variety of practices and materials are used to produce the high-quality metals of the empire. Mithril is often used by the dwarves of Ardol to produce tools, weapons, and armor that are lighter and more durable than steel. The Östrons use a technique involving folded steel to produce items of impressive quality. Casadians utilize blast furnaces and a secret recipe of minerals and ores to produce a more durable variant of steel.

Blast powder in the empire is not refined enough for firearms like muskets or large cannons, but is used to create basic explosives and small rockets. Some very rudimentary gunpowder weapons do exist, but they are either very dangerous/temperamental or inaccurate/ineffective.
