The Slayers Guild

Overview and History

Found in 229 A.I. by the Hrynjandi, the initial purpose of the Slayers Guild was to improve the defenses of the empire against monsters. Members of the guild would travel the empire to train civilians and militias in monster-specific tactics, as well as provide general protection. The leaders of Sothis, Casadia, and Chenal quickly pledged to support the guild. Guild halls were opened in Dyr and Sirius, with an outpost constructed in Casadia as well. After the Unraveling, the guild fell into disarray. After being dormant for half a century, the guild was revived by the Casadian Guardian Thyrris. He ordered the construction of a new guild hall near Voltau and increased funding of the guild. Further guild outposts were soon established in Fortuda and Concordia.

The guild rose to true prominence during the Endermen Crisis, during which it rapidly expanded and assisted settlements throughout the empire. The Slayers Guild, along with Pyrencia, organized imperial efforts to slay the Ender Dragon and bring the crisis to an end. Though the size of the guild has decreased in the decades after this crisis, it is still quite active and retains approximately 500 members.

Services

The Slayers Guild will send small groups of its members to settlements across the empire to train the locals in the art of combat against monsters. They also assist in the defense of caravans traveling through monster-infested areas. The guild also studies the supernatural, using this research to improve its ability to combat threats from monsters.
